Madison Surgical Technical Wall Graphic

Madison College approached BWBR seeking expertise for a custom wall graphic in their Surgical Technical space. While they had an in-house illustrator, they needed guidance on layout design and incorporating their branding in an aesthetically pleasing manner. Their vision called for a design that would be vibrant, detailed, and timeless.

I began by creating a grid structure based on the wall's dimensions, initially developing three columns that later expanded to four as our collaboration with the client evolved. Each column was strategically color-blocked using Madison's brand palette. To add depth, I incorporated subtle textures inspired by surgical procedures throughout the graphic.

The next phase involved integrating the illustrator's artwork into the design. This required meticulous work, as the illustrations were provided as JPEG files that needed vectorization through Photoshop and Illustrator. After creating clean, vectorized versions of the artwork, I enhanced the composition by adding complementary elements—including geometric shapes and vector linework depicting surgical lighting and stylized heart monitoring patterns. These additions created a cohesive design where all elements interacted harmoniously with the illustrated artwork.
